Obrazom: Otvorenie sezóny je spojené s oslavami 900. výročia

Aj tento rok vyleteli spred Domu umenia asi tri desiatky bielych holubíc. Letná kúpeľná sezóna 2013 je tým oficiálne považovaná za otvorenú. Podujatie, ktoré pravidelne pritiahne do centra tisíce návštevníkov má aj tento rok tradičný scenár, je však spojené s oslavami 900. výročia prvej písomnej zmienky o Piešťanoch.

Zástupcovia cirkví najprv požehnali v hudobnom pavilóne Haromony liečivé pramene a potom odštartoval z Kúpeľného ostrova sprievod. Tvorili ho folklórne súbory, žiaci a študenti piešťanských škôl, dychová hudba, mažoretky a športovci, medzi nimi aj Piešťanské Čajky. Od soboty 1. júna je pre verejnosť prístupné aj kúpalisko Eva. Na Kúpeľnom ostrove sa konali preteky dobrovoľných hasičov a na Váhu súťažili Dračie lode.

Popoludní zažili diváci v Hudobnom pavilóne koncerty Funny Fellows, Sisy Sklovskej a Richarda Rikkona, huslového tria Xplosion, tanečnej skupiny Grupo Caliante, kubánskej kapely Azúcar Cubana, Ivana Bagová a Tublatanka. V Balneologickom múzeu sa zatiaľ konali prednášky napríklad aj o žralokoch z okolia Piešťan. Celodenný program, ktorý vyvrcholil ohňovou barmanskou show, pripravila Hotelová akadémia Ľudovíta Wintera na Námestí slobody.
